This study aligns with the SFI Performance Standard 6 (International Financial Corporation). It helped identify critical biodiversity issues prior to the start of the work and defined a rigorous Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP).
OUR METHODOLOGY
In accordance with IFC standards, we apply a strict mitigation hierarchy:
1. VIEW
Change the route or location to avoid touching identified critical habitats.
2. REDUCING
Minimize footprint and duration of work in sensitive areas.
3. RESTAURER
Rehabilitation of areas temporarily affected by the project (reforestation).
4. COMPENSATION
Protect equivalent areas elsewhere (e.g. Azagny National Park) for positive results.
PROTECTION OF AZAGNY NATIONAL PARK
ATINKOU's commitment goes beyond the plant's limits. We have signed a major agreement with theIvorian Parks and Reserves Office (IPRO).
- Scientific research: Funding for amphibian monitoring and support for ecologists.
- Logistics: Strengthening park monitoring capacity.
- Phare species: Enhanced frog protection Morerella cyanophthalma in the park.
